The last day is not over when the bag hits the floor. Put the kit away dry and next season starts much better.
Dry before the long sleep
Remove the board from its bag, wipe the edges and let every piece dry completely. Separate wet liners, footbeds, gloves and outerwear. A closed damp board bag is a rust and mildew project.
Clean and inspect
Clean the base and bindings according to their makers’ guidance. Note damage while you still remember how it happened. Loosen or remove bindings if the board maker recommends it, keep hardware labelled and inspect every moving part.
Use storage wax
A hot wax left unscraped over the base helps protect it during storage. Cover the base and edges, let it cool and leave scraping until preseason. If hot waxing is new to you, use a shop rather than learning with an overheated iron.

Avoid hot attics, damp basements and direct sun. Keep the board supported without a heavy object bending it. Store boots dry and lightly closed so the shell keeps its shape; protect goggles in their bag and leave outerwear clean and fully dry.
Make a next-season note
Write down the stance, repairs due, worn consumables and anything you want to demo. Future-you will not remember which ratchet slipped in February.
